Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a leading global standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. It defines ecological requirements along the entire production chain and simultaneously requires compliance with social standards. This is regularly monitored on-site at the production facilities by independent certification bodies. The most important criteria are:

• Organic cotton cultivation, no pesticides or other pollutants, only natural fertilizers, no chemical defoliants.
  
• No use of bleaching agents, dyeing only with approved dyes and printing with water-based inks.
  
• Payment of living wages, health and safety protection and social security.
  
• No discrimination, prohibition of child and forced labor, and the right to organize.
